This was in 1854 and it ws about when the California Supreme Court. IF the chinese did a crime or did something that was illegal they wouldnt have a chance to be proven innocent. they would just be sent to jail or be banished from the country.You weren't allow to get a trial. This relates to out big question because the Chinese was being discriminated because of who they were. THis was mostly against the chinese only and this was unfair. THe whites got a chance to be proven innocent but the chinese werent.

This court case happened 1854 in the California Supreme Court. A White person about a Chinese person who witnessed a murder did this case. The Chinese person couldn't testify against the White person. The jury didn't believe the Chinese person and since they thought Chinese were inferior. They thought the Chinese person would have lied. After the court discussed the case they reversed. And the White man got free.
