U.S v. WIng Kimact « Thread Started on Nov 4, 2003, 9:38pm »
Wong KimArk was born in United States and he went to china for a visit so once he wanted to come back he wasn’t allowed to come back to America since he wasn’t an immigrant anymore. He was fighting back since he was supposed to be allowed back in America. The 14th amendment applied to all people no matter of their race or color. So he was still a citizen. This is related to the big question because the Supreme Court didn’t allow Wong Kim Ark to come back to America even though he was an America citizen They didn’t let him come to the U.S because he was Chinese. It shows that the Supreme Court doesn’t care if the Chinese were citizens they would still be treated as if they weren’t citizens.

Wong Kim Ark is a Chinese American born. He was also at least 21 years old. He was visiting China for a while and when he went back to America and asked the collector for permission to pass but was not allowed. He was fighting back since he is an American born which is the 14th amendment (This amendment said that it applied to all people, it doesn't even matter if their race or their color were different). But still he was a citizen of America. This is related to our Big Question because it shows how even an amendment is weak against the Supreme Court. This is very racist because a Chinese American born was not allowed back into his own country.
