The Page Law
Many immigrants have settled to America. The most majority were Chinese immigrants. They were settling in Calofornia. The reason they came here was for money. There was this mountain in Calofornia named the Gold Mountain. The Chinese says it like "Gum San." They heard that gold would be found. Many Chinese were being deported to their country. That was the Page Law. The whites were being racist to them. The Chinese were oppressed and discriminated.

THe Page law... The page law was very similar to the Geary act and the esclusion act. This also didnt allow any Chinese immigrants to come to the U.S for another 10 years. The Exclusion act didnt allow Chinese immigrants to come to the U.S for 10 years and the Geary Act didnt allow chinese immgrants to come for another 10 years and now the page law didnt allow them to come for another 10 years! Thats 30 years no chinese immgrants can come to the U.S. This was definately unfair to the chinese because of them working at lower wages and they didnt really know about it. This was really unfair because this wasnt the chinese falt.. Chinese people got discrimanted and oppressed a lot already. Whites also killed a lot of chinese people.

The Page Law This law is aimed at Chinese women. The law says that Chinese women aren’t allowed to prostitute. If someone tried to get pass this law and was caught, they would be put into jail not exceeding more then 5 years. Or they would have to pay 5,000 dollars. This was the only way for Chinese women to earn money. And it was an easier way to get money. I think that it sucks because why would someone prostitute just to get money.
