Mary Dyer and Harriet Jacobs are vivid examples of how Quakers and slaves have been oppressed or discriminated agianst just because of who they are. They are both members of groups that are oppressed because they're women, one was sexually harrassed and the other wasnt able to speak up because she was a women. What Mary went through is important because she died for her religion and womens rights. Harriet wrote a book to tell what went on during slavery in the south. Both women were successful on what they planned to do. Harriet published her book called Incidents in the life of a Slave Girl. Mary Dyer died and repealed the law by doing so. Both women risked they're lives and got something done. This is one of the reasons why women can speak up and that there is no more slavery.
